What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the two most prominent cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and is extracted from the stalks, leaves and flowers. Clearly Balanced Days uses CBD extracted from the industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) plant, which has been bred for a high concentration of CBD, and a low concentration of THC, the other most prominent cannabinoid. Clearly Balanced Days uses Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract with 0.0% THC for peace of mind. Current studies are finding an increasing number of potential healing properties associated with CBD with little risk for negative side effects. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive.

The endocannabinoid system is a far-reaching system in the bodies of all mammals – including people and pets! The ECS is made of receptors found on cell surfaces called the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The CB2 receptors are found mostly in the peripheral organs, especially cells associated with the immune system. In each tissue, the ECS performs different tasks, always striving for homeostasis – the maintenance of a stable internal environment.
