Cannabinoids are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant (phytocannabinoids), as well as in the bodies of mammals (endocannabinoids).
The endocannabinoid system is a far-reaching system in the bodies of all mammals – including people and pets! The ECS is made of receptors found on cell surfaces called the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The CB1 receptors are found primarily in the brain and central nervous system, and other tissues. The CB2 receptors are found mostly in the peripheral organs, especially cells associated with the immune system. In each tissue, the ECS performs different tasks, always striving for homeostasis – the maintenance of a stable internal environment.
It stands for “phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil”, which is a full spectrum botanical extract taken from the Cannabis sativa L. (a.k.a. industrial hemp) plant. The two most prominent phytocannabinoids are CBD and THC. There are over 80 documented phytocannabinoids that contribute to what is referred to as the “entourage effect,” which means these compounds work together as a team to promote homeostasis. According to current regulations, PCR can contain .3% or less of THC, but for our customers’ peace of mind, Clearly Balanced Days removes that .3% THC, leaving you with a broad spectrum oil, which retains other minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.
No. Sometimes a label lists “hemp oil” as an ingredient, but it is actually referring to hemp seed oil. Hemp seeds contain no active cannabinoids, so hemp seed oil does not have the same benefits as hemp extract/hemp oil sourced from other parts of the hemp plant. Read the label closely: choose products that use “phytocannabinoid rich (PCR) hemp oil,” “whole plant hemp extract,” “premium hemp extract,” or “hemp-derived cannabinoid extract.”
Full Spectrum CBD products contain the full range of cannabinoids. When the cannabinoids are extracted from hemp, the entire extract is made into a consumable product, meaning none of the cannabinoids are removed – including THC. Broad Spectrum CBD products contain all other cannabinoids, and therefore still contribute fully to the entourage effect, but all traces of THC have been removed. Clearly Balanced Days uses broad spectrum phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil in all of our CBD products. Isolate is pure, isolated CBD that contains no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. While this is the purest form of CBD, the fact that it contains no other cannabinoids means that it cannot create the entourage effect.
No. Since our products do not contain THC, you will not test positive on a drug test, regardless of the product potency or daily use.
CBD derived from hemp is legal under federal law in all 50 states, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill. However, it is still up to individual states, with respect to state law, and the industry is continually evolving. We are committed to operating in accordance with the laws and guidelines in place, and updating our practices when necessary, but ultimately you are responsible for complying with your individual local and state laws.
Presently airlines are allowing small quantities, but regulations are subject to change, so to be sure it is best to contact your airline and the TSA prior to your flight.
We source our CBD from carefully selected, licensed US growers who use organic farming practices.
There are a number of methods for extracting CBD, each with their own benefits, but some of the most common are CO2, ethanol, and isopropyl extraction. The best way to tell if the product you are purchasing has been made with distillate that has been properly extracted is by reviewing the lab results, which should indicate that there are no traces of solvents or other imperfections such as pesticides or molds, but the beneficial hemp-derived components have been preserved. You can review our lab results here.
Absolutely! Our suppliers test our CBD distillate for quality before sending it to us. Once we formulate our products, we send them out for third party testing to an International Standardization Organization (ISO)-accredited lab. We invest a lot into testing because it guarantees we are providing the highest quality products. We can be sure that there are no pesticides, heavy metals, solvents, or molds, you are receiving the correct potency in each container, and there are no traces of THC. All of our product labels have a QR code that you can scan, which will connect you to the lab results page on our website for your certificate of analysis (COA). The COAs are listed there by batch number - your product’s batch number can be found on the bottom of your product, along with the expiration date.
We are committed to producing and delivering an all-natural product. We offer the best phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil, organically grown in the US and fully Farm Bill compliant. We pair it with thoughtful and simple ingredients you can trust, without any unnecessary additives. Each ingredient is chosen because it serves its own purpose to improve the strength and quality of the product as a whole. With each ingredient that is added to our formulas, we strive to ensure it has a benefit to you, which is why, for example, our tinctures only include MCT oil (fractionated coconut oil) and phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil. If you have additional questions about our ingredients, please contact us. It is important to us that you know exactly what you are putting in your body.
MCT is the abbreviation for “medium chain triglycerides,” which contain healthier fats for better absorption by the body, and are known for a number of health benefits. Our MCT is derived from organic fractionated coconut oil.
You should always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new regimen.
It really comes down to preference. A tincture is taken sublingually under the tongue and it is faster acting as it goes directly in to the blood stream. With a tincture you are able to increase your dosage more easily than with a soft gel, which comes in 10mg capsules. Our soft gels go through the digestive tract, so it takes a bit longer for effect but some people prefer this method. Topicals are well-loved and are very effective for localized areas. We can also be reached for consultation to determine which product is best for you at (617) 302-7308 or by contacting [email protected]
Everyone is different, so the amount you take will be unique to you. It is always a good idea to check with your healthcare provider before starting a new regimen. The good news is that it is virtually impossible to take too much while finding the amount that works best for you. Listen to your body! Best practice is to start low and increase slowly.
Yes! We have a whole pet line designed to include tinctures and topicals that can support your pet. If your pet is taking medications or herbals, consult with your veterinarian to ensure CBD is right for your pet.

Refrigeration is not necessary, though we do suggest storing with the cap on and in a cool, dark place to prevent degradation of the chemical composition. If the temperature is above 70 degrees, you may find your salves soften, but this does not hurt the integrity of the product. It will go back to its original consistency once in a cooler environment.
