Things to Know as CBN Takes the Stage

You know that part in movies when someone is on stage and then a big hook comes out and yanks them off the stage, so someone else can take their spot?  Well, CBN is coming to steal CBD’s spotlight!  CBN stands for cannabinol, unlike CannaBiDiol.  This is another cannabinoid like CBD, but with its own properties.

What’s CBN for?

CBN has been found to aid in sleep, decrease inflammation, and have analgesic and anticonvulsant effects.

Where does CBN come from?

CBN comes from the cannabis plant and is extracted from hemp, just like CBD.  Chemically, CBN forms when THC oxidizes, or degrades.

Why not just take melatonin?

Melatonin is a hormone that your body produces naturally, but we’ve found you can hack your system by ingesting the supplement when you’re unable to sleep.  However, after some time of consistently taking melatonin supplements, your body will get used to the addition of the supplement and regulate itself to decrease natural production of it.  CBN is not a hormone your body produces; therefore, this hormone regulation system is not a concern.

Should I take CBD and CBN?

The entourage effect is well known in the cannabis world because it is how cannabinoids work together and encourage each other’s effects, so it typically is recommended to have as many cannabinoids in your products as you can.  Regulation and removal of THC does reduce the number of other cannabinoids in CBD products, but this is why we use broad spectrum CBD rather than CBD isolate, which would contain no other cannabinoids.  You can find in some of our CBD lab tests that there are increased amounts of naturally occurring CBN and sometimes CBG (which we’re really proud of!).

Why aren’t there any other herbals in your Nighttime Drops?

We have always strived to make a simple, clean product.  CBD and CBN are both compounds extracted from industrial grade hemp, so we know, if anyone were to experience adverse effects, it is either from the hemp or the MCT carrier oil.  Adding any other herbs would lead to confusion regarding what is causing an adverse effect or which ingredient is actually working.  This is why we choose to stick with this amazing plant, boosting specific cannabinoids for targeted areas of concern and working naturally with our body’s systems.

Can I take melatonin or other sleep aids with CBN?

While there are other products out there that contain CBN and melatonin, we don’t want to contribute to losing the effectiveness of your body’s hormone regulation system.  If you have any questions or concerns about taking CBN with any medications or sleep aids, you should consult your doctor.

This all leads me to introducing you to our brand new…
