We’ve Got That Good Stuff

And we’re back!  I think a lot of our customers like our products because of what we put in them – and what we don’t.  Let me explain.

None of our products have THC in them.  I know what some of you are thinking, “Then what’s the point?”  Well, THC is psychoactive and is what drug tests are checking for (among other things, but that’s unrelated to us).  While we understand there is definitely a time and place for THC, we also know a lot of people are actively avoiding THC.

Many people in law enforcement and medical settings have to pass a drug test and their livelihood depends on that, but they want to experience the benefits of CBD.  This makes our products a great fit!  We are able to offer THC-free products to them, that do cross the blood-brain barrier, but should not* show up on a drug test.  There are also people who are in recovery from drug use and even trace amounts of THC may not fit with their recovery plan.  This company was created to help people, so the last thing we want is to work against someone’s recovery (Keep up the good work!).

You may have heard the terms “broad spectrum” and “full spectrum.” These terms reference the cannabinoids, including THC, that are in that product.  CBD products can legally contain up to 0.3% THC, which doesn’t seem significant, but can attribute to false-positive drug tests and are therefore not a good fit for some people.  Full spectrum CBD products are typically those products that contain that small percentage of THC, whereas broad spectrum products, like ours, have all the trace amounts of THC removed.  It takes some extra work and time, but for you guys, we aim to please!

That is just the CBD we use – I wanted to tell you guys why we choose some of the other ingredients that we do also, because a lot of thought and consideration goes into making sure you all are getting the best products we can offer!

Coconut-derived medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil:  This is what we use as a carrier oil in our CBD tinctures.  CBD by itself tastes really bad, trust me we’ve tried, and is a very thick wax, so we have to dilute it with something that allows you to actually consume it.  We chose MCT oil because it has a long shelf life, but also it is an easier oil for your body to work with.

Let me explain: Medium chain triglycerides are much easier for your body to absorb compared to large chain triglycerides, because, well, they’re smaller.  “But why not small chain triglycerides,” you might ask?  Those naturally occur in your body that aid in absorption of fats and sugars.  MCT has also been linked with improved cognitive function, gut and heart health, preventing diabetes, maintaining weight, and increasing energy!

Jojoba Oil: Our beautifully colored massage and body oil is made with jojoba oil.  Jojoba oil is the closest thing to your skin’s sebum – which means jojoba oil actually isn’t an oil at all.  Like your sebum, which is produced by your body to protect your skin, jojoba is actually a naturally occurring waxy substance.  Jojoba oil also contains vitamin E and B-complex, which aid in skin repair and damage control, and also has anti-inflammatory properties for soothing skin.  Lastly, the fact that I’m telling you to use an oil on your skin might have you in a bit of a panic, but don’t worry!  Jojoba is non-comedogenic, so it doesn’t block your pores!

Cherry Kernel Oil: This is one I stumbled upon hoping for some cherry flavor and couldn’t believe the benefits it has (but unfortunately no cherry flavor)!  Cherry kernel oil promotes the regeneration of skin cells and skin elasticity.  This means it can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  It has so many skin-loving properties, and like jojoba, it is non-comedogenic.

Mica color: If you’ve tried our fizzy discs, you know exactly what we need color for!  Rather than use highly concentrated dyes known to cause staining, we wanted to use something that was natural – like the rest of our ingredients – and wouldn’t make everyone mad at us for turning their skin colors.  Mica is that natural alternative and non-staining, skin-safe dye!  We also ensure that our mica colors are all ethically sourced, as that is a concern when purchasing this product.

Flavors/Scents: All our products with scents and flavors are made with organic essential oils.  If you’ve used essential oils before, you may have heard of some of the benefits to each different oil.  Since we use so many different essential oils with a wide range of health and wellness properties, I’ve attached an image with a list of all of them!

This isn’t an exhaustive list of our ingredients, of course, but I wanted to show off how much thought goes into what we sell to you: not just their availability and convenience to work with, but their health and wellness properties and ethical sourcing too.  I hope this shows you that we don’t just want to jump on the CBD train and throw it in any product, but are so invested in the quality of every aspect of our business.  We are always searching for new ingredients to increase the beneficial properties to pair with the CBD in it and expand our product line with more things you’re sure to love!

Don’t forget to check back next week for another blog post!

*We cannot legally guarantee you will pass a drug test, but can show you there non-detectable amounts of THC in our products.
